Lunch in Old Town with Friends

Fran and I were in Old Town just a week ago for lunch, after a tiring day (for me) of looking at new living room furniture.  But when friends Doug and Marilyn asked if we were available to join them, it was a no brainer!

We arrived a little early for our date surprised, on even this overcast Friday, to find so few people in the park.  La Casa de Estudillo Museum was on our way. The Estudillo family was quite prominent in early San Diego history and the house is one of the oldest standing structures in San Diego.

In the Helen Hunt Jackson book ‘Ramon’, Ramona’s wedding was held at this estate.  It is certainly a very well restored home and deserving of more of our time.

We met up with Doug and Marilyn at Casa de Maria.  There’s live music and good food … Good friends just make it better.

We started off with nachos and drinks, I splurged for their Jalapeno Margarita!  Very  good.

After lunch we wandered around the Old Town Market, lots of fun little shops tucked into this corner.  Another spot in Old Town where we could spend a little more time.
